Photography courses
Irena has teamed up with Sal Cawley to bring two weekend women and photography walking courses in Lake District.
Saturday 31 March - Sunday 1 April 2012
Saturday 27 October - Sunday 28 October 2012
Residential and non residential places are available.
Two courses are available geared to the type of camera you have: DSLR or compact.
Both courses will look at getting the best out of your camera, understanding the technical aspects, looking at composition, light and landscape; and putting in practice what you’ve learnt.
The DSLR course will go into more depth for the digital single reflex camera – aperture priority, shutter priority, ISO settings and more.
Coffee and cameras
– in the comfort of the Old Farmhouse we’ll look at cameras and settings: making sure you have your camera set for maximum effect and understand what settings are available to you; we’ll look at composition, basic ‘rules’ and ideas. On the DSLR course we’ll look at aperture and shutter settings, ISO, moving away from auto.
Walk and explore
– Sal will lead a walk, taking in various viewpoints. We’ll explore what makes an interesting picture, working hands-on taking images, exploring different angles and “telling a story” through the picture.
Return and review
– once back indoors we’ll look at our pictures and review what we’ve done – which ones work and why. Plus we’ll learn quick techniques to edit and change our pictures.
Put it in to practice
- the next day is a chance to put all we’ve done into practice on a second walk in some stunning and varied Lakeland scenery
Irena will guide you through your photographic discovery.
Sal Cawley from Walks for Women will lead the walks and look after you if you are staying at the Old Farmhouse.
Call Irena for a pre-booking chat about your camera and aims: 017687 72023
(If you get the answering machine, do leave your name and number and Irena can call you back in the evening).
A full kit list and list of camera equipment will be sent to you when you book with us.
